Privacy policy
Last updated September 15, 2026
CareerPath helps you tailor resumes and cover letters, prepare for interviews and track your applications. This policy explains what we collect to do that, where it goes, and how you stay in control of it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and sign-in details, managed by our authentication provider.
- Your profile: the experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages, interests and links you add, or import from a CV file.
- Your applications: job postings you paste or save, the resumes and letters generated from them, your edits, your interview practice answers and your learning plans.
- Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card details are handled by our payment providers and never reach our servers.
- Usage: aggregated page-view statistics that don't use tracking cookies, and the technical logs needed to keep the service running.
How we use it
We use your data only to run CareerPath: to generate and score your documents, run interview practice, keep your account and plan working, and fix problems. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it for advertising.
AI processing
To write resumes, letters, interview questions and feedback, the relevant parts of your profile and the job posting are sent to AI providers (Groq, Google Gemini or Anthropic). Voice interview practice uses ElevenLabs. If you add your own API key, requests for your account use it, and it is stored encrypted.
Always review AI-generated content before you send it.
Service providers
- Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
- Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly page statistics.
- Groq, Google (Gemini) and Anthropic — AI generation.
- ElevenLabs — voice interview practice.
- Stripe and Dodo Payments — subscriptions and payments.
They process data on our behalf, only to provide these functions.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. Your browser also keeps preferences such as colour mode, and your latest AI reviews and email drafts so the same request isn't repeated; these are cleared when you sign out. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Browser extension
The CareerPath extension reads a page only when you open it there. It sends a job posting to your account only to score it, save it or tailor a resume, and the page's address only to check whether that job is already saved. It keeps your sign-in token on your device until you disconnect. Its detailed policy is published with the extension.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays in your account until you delete it. You can edit or delete profile entries, applications, interview sessions and learning plans at any time, and delete your whole account from your settings, which erases your profile, your documents and the CV files you uploaded.
To apply plan limits, we keep the number of generations used in the current month even after you delete an application — never its content.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, by contacting us at the address below.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change, with the date of the latest version at the top.
